2012 Ford C-Max

Overview
In line with the range of Ford's global product, the manufacturer of the second generation Grand C-Max was marketed in the United States, where Ford is simply called C-Max. This is the first time they sold the van here. With sliding doors and three rows of seating for up to seven, the C-Max competes in a segment that has made limited incursions in the U.S.: compact MPV. The only real competitor is the Mazda5, but you can also purchase the C-Max small crosses against the third-row option, such as the Toyota RAV4 and the Kia Sorento.

2012 Ford C-Max

The front-wheel drive C-Max offers two four-cylinder engines, both with a six-speed automatic transmission. Trim levels are S, SE and SEL.

Exterior
With a large trapezoidal front air intake, fog lights and a triangular network of websites either the C-Max looks like a Ford Fiesta subcompact version of the giant size. At the rear, the taillights are sitting next to a large rear window. Despite the third row, the C-Max is only 6.4 inches longer than the Ford Focus sedan 2012. It is shorter and wider than the Mazda5.

C-Max S makes steel wheels 17 inches. SE and SEL 17-inch alloys. A tail lift without hands-free is the first in the industry: Approach your car with an armful of groceries and the key fob in your pocket and you can shake the foot for a bumper sensor to open the tailgate Power.

Interior
Up front, the cabin is a lot of similarities with the Focus. Central control pod stereo and air vents located above the rings and climate models have uplevel silver and black piano keys, and dual zone automatic temperature control. An optional panoramic sunroof extends over the second row.

Most of the cuts will be three lines. The third row has two seats, is accessible via an appointment slip mode with the second row of seats. Otherwise, the middle position of the fold and store the second row, create two captain's chairs and an aisle.

Fold the second and third row down, and the C-Max 70.2 cubic feet Maximum cargo volume is a bit 'competitive, three-row crossover, you win the Mazda5 of 44.4 cubic meters per second and the third row down.

Under the Hood
C-Max standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder makes 168 horsepower and 167 pound-feet of torque. The optional 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder 168 hp will do the same, but slightly higher than the 173 pounds-feet of torque, better fuel economy to boot. Ford says that both engines run on regular gas, but premium fuel 1.6-liter is rated at 180 hp.

The C-Max mounts an independent suspension at all four wheels, with a standard six-speed for both engines.

Safety
Safety features are standard three-row side airbags with rollover-sensing curtain, ABS brakes and electronic stability control system.
