Hyundai aggressively touts 40 mpg highway EPA notes several of its latest models, and in 2012 Veloster sports coupe is the latest to reach this level.
The 2012 Hyundai Veloster is not a classic or sports coupe, the vast queue lines or unusual distribution of three doors. The driver's side, the versatile Veloster has a single standard door, but to walk on the passenger side, and is a couple of small doors that are in and out of the back easier.

Unusual design (an approach also taken byNissan Juke subcompact crossover) can be considered hip urban planning, or simply a way to exacerbate the buyers, and buyers know they make a final part of a small specialized group that "gets" Veloster. In both cases, the coupe is loaded with features that keep the crowd happy always connected.
The transmission and platform Veloster owe much to the Elantra compact sedan, including the direction that the power model (not one of our favorites). However, the revised suspension, which is more fun to throw around corners.
138 horsepower, 1.6-liter four-cylinder can be paired with either a six-speed manual or the (admirable), a six-speed dual-clutch "automatic manual". A six-speed transmission is exceptionally long, directed, which provides the key rating of 40 mpg highway (along with 28 mpg city, 32 mpg combined vote).
The double clutch can be more fun to drive, and is valued at a combined 32 mpg, if the city and highway numbers are closer to each other, and 29 mpg 38, respectively. Real-world mileage for both cars seem to be in the range of 30 to 32 mpg.
In use, the motor high torque at low revs, which means you really need to rev to overcome their sense Veloster drop away from a stoplight.
Yet, driving performance is not a reason to be Veloster. Its base price of $ 18,060 includes goodies as standard with USB and iPod connectivity, Bluetooth hands-free voice communication as well as mobile phones and audio controls, RCA inputs, and the Gracenote music video.
Beyond the entertainment electronics, the options include a navigation system, a huge panoramic sunroof, fog several improvements, and a 115 volt outlet (standard on some models, but who is counting?). A trial subscription Hyundai BlueLink following emergency services and concierge service is also standard.
As a completely new model, Veloster is not crash-test as I write. It includes six airbags: two front, front seat side airbags and side curtains, which cover all the side windows. Since the Federal implementation of all the models 2012, Veloster has ABS and electronic stability control.
Equipped with a blue link, the Veloster is a GPS receiver and cellular telephony, which provides additional security features, including an automatic message collision when an airbag is deployed with the operator sustained an SOS button and Roadside Assistance. Subscription fees.
